

£2.5m funding for Scottish Waste

Councils in Scotland will have the opportunity to further improve their waste management and recycling points/centres by sharing in a £2.5m fund. The fund is to complements the c£202m already provided by the Strategic Waste Fund to all 32 local authorities, to 2005/06.
Environment Minister for Scotland Ross Finnie said, “This funding will help local authorities to audit their own waste and produce waste prevention action plans. We will hold detailed discussions with CoLSA to ensure that this money is well targeted and fits in with local authorities’ existing plans.”
